Built by a retired Navy veteran. Please see toby our 20 pound kitten in one of the photos how great it is. The pod is 26x 16. The lid is 20 x 30.I'm going to put 1/4 inch insulation on the interior walls. On the forehead and right side, I'm going to install a safe pet cat door. (locks removed so that the never can get stuck inside). I put one at the front and one on the side because some scrap ferrel are skid-flat and want the escape door.
The heating pad is built of sturdy plastic abs and features one. Cord wrapped in steel that resists nibbling curious teeth and claws. The pad measures 9 by 12 inches and is ul listed. The entrance to the cord and the first 18 inches of the power cord were covered with steel to prevent chewing.
Use exterior 5 1/2 foot cord wrapped steel 18 inches steel chew guard internal thermostat. Wooden stain so I'll put a polyurethane on the whole to protect it. Top can come off so that it can be cleaned from time to time or for food, etc.
Heating cushion that I'm going to use. Has steel around the cord to avoid gnawing. On the heat, I'll place a piece of carpet so that kitty's feet don't touch the wooden floor. The whole thing will come ups to you or your home.
The box and doors, the heating pad will all be fully assembled. Boards to raise the bottom to get it out of the ground have also been installed. It is ready to use right out of the box. Built with pride in the United States.
